Panorama Arrives, Yats Departs

Few headlines warrant an outburst from me, but the Eater’s scoop that Yat’s New Orleans Original Po Boys is moving to the Bayview brought out a despaired “Noooo!” It’s great the fried seafood and fried turkey slinging eatery will be able to move into a dedicated storefront, but 4800 Third Street is so far away. Get some before they move next week.

Writers have been going nuts over the release over the release of McSweeney’s San Francisco Panorama, which drops today. Whether you’re in the Mission or Mill Valley, here’s a handy map for where you can get your copy.

While the Panorama is supposed to contain plenty of comics, for those of you who want more (or know people who want more) Caffeinated Comics has posted a holiday gift guide for the blogger, the granddad and the pervy (not necessarily the all same person) comic-book geek in your life. (Via SFist)

SF Weekly reports that a fourth suspect was arrested for the beating of La Mission actor Christopher Borgzinner, who was beaten while riding Muni in October.

SFoodie’s also posted the full video of the street food panel talk, titled The Street Food Movement: SF Hearts the Cart at the Commonwealth Club, with local notables Charles Phan, Steven Gdula, Anthony Myint and Brian Kimball and moderated by Tamara Palmer of SFoodie. I haven’t watched it, but if you love street food and have an hour to spare, maybe you should.

But you should definitely check this out – Burrito Justice’s post on the Valencia Hotel and the massive sinkholes that opened up during the 1906 earthquake. Beautiful, and terrifying.

Mission Mission’s posted a review of (not) local band The Mission District. While this video of the band’s “Just Don’t Feel The Same” (note the resemblance to Gary Newman’s “Cars”) made the rounds at the ML offices a while ago, I thought it was worth a revisit, as it provides handy exit from this post. Also, use “The Mission District” graphic that introduces the video to replace the 14-Mission header on Muni buses, and I guarantee you more people will ride Muni.
